with a Privilege to travel freely and a curiosity to explore, i moved from amsterdam to unguja, zanzibar, in 2015. it was supposed to be a 5 months journey – and yet it is my homebase, still today.

travelling and working abroad made me realise quickly that the tourism industry has multiple faces – a paradox I’m confronted by. yet i strongly believe that travel is incredibly meaningful, where everyone involves has a role of a student – as long as we listen – and as a teacher – as long as we question.

    Nowadays home of tanzanian artists and musicians, bagamoyo (bwaga-moyo - lay down your heart) used to be one of the most important trading ports of east africa.
